Turn Aside

Scroll to Scripture

"I will now turn aside, and see this great sight." (Exodus 3:3, KJV)

Turn Aside helps you put down the scroll and pick up Scripture.

Pick your social media apps, like Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, and how many minutes you get. When your minutes run out, those apps pause. To unlock them, spend a few minutes in your Bible or devotional app. Then your minutes start again.

Turn Aside is free, for Android phones and tablets.

How it works

• Choose a level, from Milk (30 minutes, then 2 minutes of reading) to Fattened Calf (5 minutes, then 20).
• Only real reading counts. Time counts while you're scrolling or tapping in your reading app, or while its audio is playing.
• Skip if you must. Every 7 kept days earns a free skip, which keeps your streak. Each week also has one grace day for a hard day.
• Sabbath: if you choose, rest from your limited apps all day on Sundays or any days you like.
• Wilderness Fast: rest from your limited apps completely, for a day, a week, 40 days or until Sunday.
